The day we got married, the day Dylan was born, the day Scarlett was born, and . . .

The day of his University of Washington dental interview. Brad just had one of the biggest days of his life this week.

On Sunday we all drove up to Seattle to go to Brad's dental interview with him- well, in the same city as him at least. We settled into our *free* hotel. We stayed at the Mariott Suites in downtown Seattle with our rewards from our Mariott credit card. Nice. Then we explored Pike's Place Market where we promised Dylan that they would throw fish. He thought that he would get to throw a fish, but was satisfied with holding a crab. Actually, just touching a crab. He understands what they do with their pincers and wasnt interested in being a part of that.
That night was a certain form of torture. Dylan refused to go to sleep even though he was exhausted. He was on the hide-a-bed and just wasnt havin' it. Scarlett was also having a hard time going down for the night, but we're a bit more used to that.

The next day, Brad had to be at UW from 8:30 to 2:00 so the rest of us went on the Hotel Shuttle to the Seattle City Center. We spent most of the time in the Children's Museum, but made it out for lunch and some time at the fountain (or mountain as Dylan calls it). Dylan LOVED the museum and so did I. It is really big with 7 or 8 different themed rooms and everything is targeted to kids ages 10 and under. His favorite was the mini grocery store. It was an exact replica of a real grocery store with fake food and fake registers. Hilarious. There was also a mini Mexican restaurant. We could have spent days there.

The best part of the day was seeing Brad again after his interview and hearing how well it went. That's right, it went REALLY well. It's hard to explain how happy/relieved/proud I am. We've put so much into this decision and he has worked so very hard. It's amazing to see things working out. We wont know until January if he gets into UW, but I feel like we can celebrate so many things. No matter how it turns out he interviewed at one of the most competitive dental schools in the nation and truly impressed the interviewers. That experience is what he has worked so hard to have, and he did it! Go Brad!! We have so much to be thankful for. We have never felt the hand of God so profoundly in our lives. This journey has been full of blessings and guidance and is invaluable for that alone.

Ahhh..hotel torture...I know all about that! We're going again in January Sans kids, you guys should try it sometime too! Harder with the tiny babies though, nursing and all that. Congrats to Brad on a good job. I love Children's Museums. They have one in Portland that sounds just like the one you went to, and Ysa LOVED it. Too bad you can't have something like that in your house, huh?

I totally thought of you when we were having all the hotel fun. Although, we're home now and he isnt acting any better. I think he's sick. Or at least I'd like to believe that.
